• The Day Everything Changed: The moment of Marina's diagnosis—alone, head spinning, the song "10,000 Angels" playing—is a vivid and heartbreaking memory. It speaks volumes about the shock and isolation many parents feel at that initial stage.
• Defying Expectations: Being told Marina probably wouldn't walk or talk, only to see her take her first step at three and develop communication through speech and sign language, is a testament to her warrior spirit and your commitment to early intervention (PT, OT, and speech).
• The Village: It's clear that the support from the Rossville school district and having a case manager were instrumental in getting Marina the help she needed, including the complex process of legal guardianship.
• A Full Life: Marina's current life is absolutely remarkable! Celebrating her 30th birthday, managing her own "mini-farm" with 36 chickens, 2 goats, 2 peacocks, and Albert the donkey, plus her craft room, shows just how much she has achieved and how much love and encouragement surrounds her.
• Cody's Amazing Role:  Cody Springer is a wonderful big brother and now serving in the Army National Guard. The stability and love he provides  to her has been monumental for her happiness and well being.
